Programs

What is the Annual Fellowship Program?

Annual Fellows is an intermediate professional development program that helps prepare development officers in the early and intermediate stages of their career in advancement for success in their ongoing service to the non-profit community. Candidates are non-profit professionals in development or related fields (alumni affairs, public relations) in the first three years of their careers.

What is the Management Fellowship Program?

Management Fellows is an advanced professional fellowship program that prepares new generations of non-profit managers to lead their organizations with confidence and knowledge. Candidates must be both experienced and promising, and have served in their current roles long enough to have a command of their responsibilities.  Fellows include non-profit professionals in development and related fields (alumni affairs, public relations) who are managers.  First priority is given to qualified alumni of the DLC Annual Fellows Program

How much do the programs cost?

With anticipated budget challenges due to COVID-19, and virtual sessions likely through the end of 2020, the DLC has decreased program fees and increased available scholarship funding for the 2020-2021 year.

Annual Fellows: $250 for each participant (regularly $400),

Management Fellows: $700 for each participant (regularly $1,200).

The fee for each participant covers all meals and expenses, except transportation.

Are scholarships available?

The Clyde Watkins Scholarship is available for applicants from smaller non-profits that are not able to support the tuition.

What is CFRE certification?

A CFRE is a Certified Fundraising Executive. The certification process showcases one’s skillset and general knowledge in ethical philanthropic fundraising. The Development Leadership Consortium's Management Fellows Program is an approved Continuing Education provider through CFRE International.
